We are currently looking to hire an experienced Application Manager to work out of our Corporate offices in either Clifton, NJ and Long Island City.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensure timely tracking, triage, escalation, resolution of reported problems in their domain.
  • Spearhead efficiency and improvement initiatives, and drive related tasks.
  • Manage through reporting and metrics of KPIs for performance and speed to resolution on reports issues that may be global and or complex.
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the Bank’s mission. Specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
  • Keep IT Director well-informed of activities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Application Support function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Oversee FIS Core application/vendor’s financial management, business planning, systems and controls.
  • Manage Application support to include: scheduling, automation, documentation, troubleshooting and identifying processing problems; and assessing and reporting operational status.
  • Develop and maintain technology policies, standards and procedures manual; develop and maintain related technology checklists; maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Present and implement technological alternatives to streamline functions and improve productivity.
  • Maintain the Bank’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and the IS department.
  • Recommend information technology strategies, policies and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating needs of the department and/or the Bank.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience understanding business requirements (functional and non-functional) and applying the correct solutions to enable a successful achievement of business objectives
  • Vendor Management skills required to drive product advocacy and vendor commitment
  • Project Management experience (e.g. timeline creation, resource management, status tracking, specifically for proofs of concept, ROI analysis, and broad technology strategy efforts)
  • Thorough understanding of leading middleware principles and patterns
  • Experience using leading industry standard SOA/API technologies. Examples include: : J2EE, Spring, Hibernate/iBaties , XML/XSLT, SOAP/Web Services, Websphere MQ, Websphere Message Broker, Data Power, Splunk and SharePoint
  • Experience in Architecting Design Patterns for SOA/EAI/ESB/BPM
  • Experience in the Banking/Financial Services Industry in a management capacity
  • Strong knowledge in working with Core Banking systems (FIS, FISERV, Jack Henry) highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Banking applications such as Deposit Origination, AML, Internet, online Banking, Mobile Banking, and Loan origination
  • Strong knowledge in working with Web services and API technologies (REST, XML/JSON, SOAP, XSLT).
  • Strong knowledge on securing the web APIs data-integrity/confidentiality
  • Knowledge of API Management concepts & fundamentals
  • Experience with Databases (Oracle & SQL server)
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint & Intranet
  • Good communication skills with both technical and management teams
  • Must have experience in development of applications on Force.com platform (a.k.a. Salesforce.com)
  • BA/BS in business, computer science, or related areas, preferred
  • 5 years of Information Systems experience preferred
